Whatsits Galore feels like somebody opened a desk drawer in 2000, kept throwing interesting things into it, and never stopped.
The site’s own footer dates its content from 2000 through 2026, and it is still being updated. A new Mickey item was posted in September 2026.
That makes it more interesting than a frozen nostalgia page.
This is old-web structure still functioning in the present tense.
Disney, Scooby, Star Wars, and whatever else fit
The homepage advertises collectibles, Disneyana, toys, trivia, action figures, movie memorabilia, and television material, but the sitemap immediately escapes those categories.
There are pages for Brisco County, Jr., Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan, Get Smart catchphrases, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Greatest American Hero, The Wacky Races, Star Trek posters, Scooby-Doo, board-game variants, TV glitches, quizzes, and a guide to identifying Disney’s Seven Dwarfs.
There is also a World’s Longest Yard Sale section.
Of course there is.
Modern publishing systems usually reward tighter topical focus. Whatsits Galore comes from the opposite tradition: the domain itself is the category. If the owner likes it, collects it, notices something funny about it, or wants to catalog it, the page belongs.
The result is useful in a way that polished fandom databases often are not.
A page about television continuity errors may sit beside a collectible listing. A catchphrase index may lead to a character guide. Commercial material and fan research coexist without pretending to be the same thing.
The site also still carries explicit copyright notes for Disney, Hanna-Barbera, Universal, Warner Bros., and other rights holders, another reminder that independent fan publishing has always lived beside somebody else’s intellectual property.
CacheRat’s 1,967 Ancient Web Domains research list includes sites like this because survival is more interesting when the site did not survive by becoming something else.
Whatsits Galore is still recognizably a hand-built pile of enthusiasms.
Twenty-six years later, somebody is still adding to the pile.
