The collection covers the elements, chemical reactions, organic chemistry, bonding, acids, bases, salts, and an essay called “We Are Stardust” that connects chemistry to stellar evolution.
The writing is deliberately introductory. Instead of beginning with equations and assuming the reader already knows the language, it starts with atoms and compounds and builds outward.
A chemistry site built as a sequence of explanations
The elements page compares the roughly hundred kinds of atoms to the letters of an alphabet: a limited set of building blocks can produce an enormous number of combinations.
From there it moves through familiar examples. Water is not an element but a compound of hydrogen and oxygen. Sodium and chlorine have radically different properties from the table salt they form together. Atomic number comes from the number of protons in the nucleus.
Individual elements are then introduced by name, symbol, physical properties, uses, and bits of etymology or history. Hydrogen, helium, lithium, carbon, oxygen, titanium, chromium and many others appear as short readable entries rather than as a giant database table.
Other pages continue the same approach. Chemical reactions introduce molecules and formulas. Bonding asks why water forms as H2O rather than some arbitrary combination and why sodium is reactive while neon is not. Organic chemistry follows carbon into its much larger family of compounds.
There is no learning-management shell wrapped around it. No account. No progress bar. No ten-second animation before the answer appears.
It is just a linked set of explanations.
CacheRat’s 1,967 Ancient Web Domains research list includes personal educational sites because the old web produced a lot of subject matter this way: one person, one interest, and enough patience to make the next page.
KryssTal Chemistry is a good example of how effective that can still be.
