There are product-review sites, and then there are websites where one person has been reviewing the same class of equipment for so long that the archive becomes part of the hobby’s history.

The subject matter ranges from small beginner reflectors to serious Dobsonians, refractors and expensive instruments that most people sensibly admire without immediately buying.
Independent advice ages differently
Telescope shopping has a particular problem: specifications are easy to compare while actual ownership is not.
A telescope can look excellent on paper and still be annoying to move, difficult to collimate, poorly matched to a beginner or simply less pleasant to use than a smaller instrument. Long-form reviews from somebody who has handled many generations of equipment preserve that practical context.
The age of the site also gives it a second function. Models that were once current products are now vintage equipment. Old reviews become historical documentation for used-market buyers trying to understand an Orion, Celestron, Vixen, Meade or other telescope that has been out of production for years.
The beginner material is similarly durable because it addresses the recurring mistakes of the hobby: buying too much aperture to carry, confusing magnification with quality, and forgetting that an instrument used often is more useful than a theoretically superior one left indoors.
For webmasters, Scope Reviews shows the compounding effect of staying on one subject. A review written in 1999 may stop being timely, but it does not stop being searchable. Twenty years of pages turn an opinion site into an archive.
There is also a large warning against looking at the Sun through a telescope without proper filtration. Some advice should never be allowed to age out.
