LA County Library cardholders over 18 can borrow tools and maker items at no cost from six branches: Compton, Lancaster, Malibu, Norwalk, Rosemead, and San Fernando. Tools include hand and power tools, sewing machines, and gardening equipment; loans last seven days. Inventory varies by branch, so check the catalog and call ahead before visiting. A practical option for repair-minded neighbors and small makers who would rather borrow than buy.
