Henry Rzepa’s web exhibition connected photographs of historic chemical samples—from 1854 silicon to Perkin’s mauveine—with molecular models using the era’s Chime plug-in. It was part museum catalog, part interactive science experiment. The old 3-D features may no longer run, but the paper records a genuinely early idea: link the object to the chemistry, not just its label.
